Biography :
Eli Gilboa is a translational investigator; made numerous contributions in the fields of gene therapy, HIV research, and cancer immunotherapy that helped shape these fields, such as “self-inactivating” retroviral vectors, HIV TAR decoys, mRNA transfected dendritic cell vaccines, and the use aptamer ligands to modulate tumor immunity, demonstrating their exceptional efficiency to target siRNAs, aptamers, and small molecule drugs to immune and tumor cells. His lab is focusing on the development of new concepts in cancer immunity such as promoting immune memory, tumor targeted costimulation, enhancing tumor antigenicity, and a new vaccination concept using a common off-the-shelf formulation that is applicable to both cancer and infectious diseases.
