Biography :
Dr. Hao Song is a PI at Beijing Ditan Hospital, Capital Medical University. His research focuses on viral entry, host adaptation, pathogenic mechanisms, and the discovery of novel intervention targets for important enveloped viruses. By integrating biochemistry, cell biology, virology, immunology, and structural biology, he studies key viral glycoproteins and host immune molecules involved in virus–host interactions. His work has provided important insights into cross-species transmission of influenza viruses, entry mechanisms of chikungunya virus and gammaherpesvirus, and pathogenic or preventive targets of Zika virus and SARS-CoV-2. These findings support the development of antiviral drugs, neutralizing antibodies, vaccines, and risk assessment strategies. He has published more than 60 SCI papers with an H-index of 35. His current work aims to define molecular determinants of zoonotic risk and translate basic virology findings into surveillance, risk assessment, and intervention strategies.
